A Piece of Work

All dressed and ready to go to a dinner meeting - not too bad for a Big W suit!!! (Big W is a shop in Australia) It might only last for a year but for $30 for the jacket, $20 trousers and $20 shirt and tie - who cares??? The suit is well made - all lined and fully functioning pockets - not like some of the cheap suits you see around the place. I started on this today - all beeswaxed and ready to go. Not sure where it is going after that though - stay tuned.
I made this basket of scones yesterday. Whilst I prefer my bacon and chive scones , my parents thought these were really nice and they only use 4 ingredients. Recipe comes from the 4 ingredients (no.2) cookbook.
1 cup chopped dates
300ml cream
4 cups self raising flour
375 ml ginger ale
Preheat oven 200C. Sift flour into bowl and add other ingredients. Place on floured surface and cut with scone cutter, then place on oven tray. Bake 12-15mins

Oooh I've heard of this recipe but I think they used lemonade instead of the gingerale. I like the sound of the gingerale as it would add a different taste. Have to try it...when I've lost weight!

Those scones look good, especially since you don't need to rub any butter in! Would you recommend the cookbook - I have looked at it a few times

It's the first recipe that I have made from the book but I've looked through it and it looks quite good.We gave the first book to my nephew when he moved to the city for University and I know he loves it.
I wouldn't always stick to the 4 ingredients though - I felt like the scones needed a good dash of spice or something but they are quick and easy recipes.
