Our church craft group had their 'handover' of goods today to their selected charity - Anglicare. There are 3 or 4 different charity groups that they provide for, but just one group each year.
The second term of the year, is dedicated to knitting, crocheting, sewing etc to make items to keep people warm (& general clothing) and to show that there are people who don't even know them, that care. Some of the women work all year round on this project.
All the materials used have been donated to the group. There are often unfinished knitted jumpers in the bags of wool and the O Wise One (my mum) gets the job of finishing them off,

Have a look at the numbers of items that were sent off today.........total 1148.Imagine 161 crocheted or knitted rugs, 140 hats, 193 knitted jumpers, 129 fleecy windcheaters, 75 patchwork (& other sewn) quilts, 54 pairs of knickers!!!! and all the rest that you can see in the photo. It is an amazing effort by the women.
And there are some who have already started work on next year's Care-a-thon!

What an Amazing Caring group of women!!!!! Of course it goes with out saying that any group your Mum is involved with can only be Outstanding :)
I'm still wanting to do a round robin I'll mail you with my idea so far. But I'm thinking that we won't start until the first of the year. I really have to get serious about Mette's wedding in Nov!!! and I'm sure most of you guys will be gearing up for the holidays season.
