Ice Storm

Not in Australia, obviously but my brother who lives in Ohio emailed us with these photos yesterday. Thought you might like to see them too as it is something that we don't experience here. "Well, we have been experiencing an ice storm here the last 2 days and have had a huge branch drop off in the backyard as well as smaller other ones. Had a branch land on the roof at work too, whch we had to pull off with the truck. The power went off from 7.30am to 3pm Friday, we thought we were going to have to go to a motel to sleep or at least a friend's who had power. It is difficult to tell you how cold it would be otherwise. It was 19 degrees outside Friday afternoon and and in the 50's in the house before the power came back on. Not sure what it would have gotten down to overnight. Here are a few photos of the ice storm... really quite pretty when viewed without living through it. I had to shovel the walks at work then the drive at home Friday... feeling stiff today... over an inch of ice in most places!! It basically rains and freezes on the spot."
