A Sense of Achievement

Both Marion and I feel like we have achieved a few things over the weekend. Marion has finished this item, which will be flying up to Queensland very soon.

Marion has also done lots of baking and other things.

I've done more mundane jobs like cleaning out my fridges and freezers, getting all my bookwork ready to take to the accountants. But I have also packaged up things that need to be posted. We have 3 large parcels waiting on the table to be posted to Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales, isn't that a great coverage of Australia!!!

We're off to Adelaide tomorrow to do some serious Christmas shopping and Marion is going to school with my youngest N. It is pet week and he is borrowing Marion's daughters cat for the day. There is no way either of our cats would be happy in doing something like that. Spike (our dog) is off to school on Tuesday!

Sunday at the beach

It was a nice afternoon so we headed off to the beach to take Spike for a walk The tide was out so we had lots of exploring and examining to do.

Spike liked chasing the birds ~ it didn't matter what size they were,

he was even eyeing off the pelicans.

And every now and then Spike collapsed on the sand, worn out.

(We found all the patterns in the sand very interesting.)

Fun Day

New items for The Chocolate Crow Trader's Halloween theme - the new page will be up on 15th September but today we had to email our photos and descriptions to "The Boss"! Don't you love the fabric in the witches dress. I had seen a doll on ebay with a dress using this fabric and fortunately I was able to find some in USA. It is almost a toile look. Just gorgeous. The needlefelted pumpkins look great and would make a great pincushion as well as being ornamental. I love the ones with the longer stems.

Seeing it was Father's Day we all went for a walk on a local beach - of course Spike came too. He ran and ran with his little legs and when we came home, he badly needed a bath. It took 8 hands to bath him - our 2 boys and our 2 nieces - but he just sat there and let them at it!!

At the moment he is 'zonked' in his bed - all snuggly and clean.

Spike

Introducing "Spike" - the newest member to our family. He is an early birthday present for B.

You forget what its like to have a 'baby' in the house again! He is a maltese x cavalier. The cats aren't too happy with him at this stage!

It's not very often that I make something that I like soooo much that I want to keep it. I know I will sell this mixed media collage at some stage but I'm not letting it go just yet. Marion asked me a few weeks ago if it was going to go on The Choc Crow Trader this month and I had to explain that I wasn't ready to sell it. I don't know why I like it so much - but if you could see a closeup of the little girl in the photo, you can see that she is poking her tongue out - cheeky thing!
